Custom Magic 8 Ball With No Minimum Order
This is one of the most common emails we get: "Can I order just ten?" I'd rather give you a straight answer than bury it three paragraphs down. Our minimum is 100 units, and it's 100 for every size we make — keychain 4.5cm, standard 7cm, large 10cm, and giant 12cm. There's no size where the minimum drops lower.
That said, there's more to it than a flat no, and there are a couple of options that get most small-quantity customers what they actually need.
Why we can't do a true no-minimum run
Every custom order needs its own printing setup and, more importantly, its own custom die — the twenty-sided piece inside the ball with your answers on it. That die is tooled and printed specifically for you. The cost of making it is roughly the same whether we produce ten balls or a thousand.
If we split that setup across ten units, the per-unit price gets silly — you'd be paying more per ball than a nice bottle of wine for a promotional giveaway. At 100 units, the setup spreads out to something reasonable and you get a price that makes sense. That's the whole reason the number is where it is. It isn't a sales tactic to push you up a tier.
You'll occasionally see other manufacturers advertise "no minimum." When you read the fine print, it usually means one of three things: they're printing on a stock ball with generic answers, the per-unit price is several times higher, or there's a setup fee that makes the total identical to a 100-piece order anyway. We'd rather just tell you the number.
What to do if you need fewer than 100
Order a single sample for $1.00
If you need one ball for a photo shoot, a pitch deck mockup, a gift, or to show your boss before signing off on a bigger order, a sample is $1.00. It's a real ball, and it's the fastest way to settle an internal debate about whether this is the right giveaway.
Split an order with someone else
We've had regional offices, sister companies, and a few event organizers combine into one 100-unit run. The artwork has to be the same across the whole batch, but if two teams want the same design, there's nothing stopping you from splitting the invoice and shipping to two addresses.
Look at what 100 actually costs
People sometimes assume 100 units is a big financial commitment. At 100 pieces the price is $6.99 per unit — $699 for the order with free shipping included. Once you see the number, the minimum tends to stop feeling like a barrier.
Full pricing at a glance
- 100+ units — $6.99 each ($699)
- 300+ units — $5.85 each ($1,755)
- 500+ units — $4.90 each ($2,450)
- 1000+ units — $4.20 each ($4,200)
- Single sample — $1.00
Shipping within the USA is free at every tier. Production takes 15 days once you approve the artwork proof, and most orders land within 20 days total.
Ordering more than you need isn't wasted
Something we've noticed after seven years: the customers who reluctantly order 100 almost always come back for more. Magic 8 Balls don't sit in a closet the way branded pens and tote bags do. People pick them up, shake them, and put them on their desk. Leftovers get used at the next event, handed to new hires, or mailed to clients.
And if it truly doesn't work out, we offer 90-day free returns. You have three months to decide whether the order was right, which takes most of the risk out of hitting the minimum.
If you're still not sure, email us with what you're planning and how many people you're trying to reach. We'll tell you honestly whether 100 balls makes sense for your event or whether you'd be better off with something else entirely.
