Custom Magic 8 Ball Keychain

The keychain is our smallest ball at 4.5cm, and it's quietly become the version I recommend most often. It does something the bigger sizes can't: it leaves the event with people and stays in their pocket. A 12cm ball goes in a tote bag and sometimes into a hotel bin. A keychain ends up clipped to a set of car keys for two years.

What you get at 4.5cm

It's a real Magic 8 Ball, just small. The liquid, the floating twenty-sided die, the little viewing window — all of it works exactly like the standard size. You still get all twenty of your own custom answers, and your logo still goes on the ball. Nothing is stripped out to make the small version cheaper.

The keyring attachment is a standard split ring on a short metal loop, strong enough for daily use. We test the attachment point on every production run because a keychain that pops off its ring is worse than no keychain at all.

How the answers work on a small ball

Same rules as every other size: twenty answers, up to 19 characters each including spaces. The window is smaller, so we'd push you a little harder toward short lines. Anything up to about 15 characters reads comfortably at arm's length. If a line is long, we'll flag it on the proof and suggest a trim.

Logo placement

On the 4.5cm version, the logo usually sits opposite the window or wraps around the answer area. Simple marks work best — a wordmark or a clean icon. Detailed illustrations with fine linework don't hold up well at this scale, and we'll tell you before printing rather than after.

Sizes and how the keychain compares

We make four sizes: the 4.5cm keychain, the 7cm standard, the 10cm large, and the 12cm giant. The keychain is for volume and portability. The 7cm is a good desk item. The 10cm is what most people picture when they think of a Magic 8 Ball. The 12cm giant is for booth displays and photo moments, not for handing out by the hundred.

The minimum is 100 units, and that's the same across all four sizes — the keychain isn't cheaper to set up just because it's small, since the custom die inside is the same job. Shipping within the USA is free at every quantity.

Production and delivery

Once you approve the free artwork proof, production takes 15 days. Most orders arrive within 20 days from start to finish. If you have a hard event date, mention it in your first email and we'll tell you plainly whether we can hit it.

A note on travel

Because these contain liquid, keychain Magic 8 Balls can't go in a carry-on bag. They're fine in checked luggage. If you're flying to a show with your giveaways, plan to check them, or have us ship directly to the venue — we do this constantly and it's usually the easier option.

Returns

90-day free returns, same as everything else we make. If the keychains aren't right, you have three months to send them back. Between the free proof and the return window, there's not much left to worry about.
